Survival craft are equipped with the following items as per the LSA Code: buoyant oars, paddles, sea-anchor, buoyant bailer, sponge, efficient radar reflector, watertight container with fresh water, food rations, first-aid kit, thermal protective aids, and portable radio equipment.

Additional equipment includes a searchlight, whistle, mirror for signalling, fishing tackle, and anti-seasickness medicine.

The equipment must be stowed securely and ready for immediate use.

Instructors must ensure trainees know the location and correct use of all items to enhance survival chances.
