MFA- Medical first aid

All heat burns should be cooled as quickly as possible using running cold water (sea or fresh) for at least ten minutes, or by immersing the affected area in basins of cold water. If immediate cooling is not possible, the casualty should be moved to a location where cooling can be carried out.

Attempt to remove clothing gently, but do not pull off any material that is stuck to the skin. Cover the burned areas with a dry, non-fluffy dressing that is larger than the burn, and secure it with a bandage.

For further details on classification, treatment, and prognosis, refer to Burns and scalds.

In cases of severe burns accompanied by shock, obtain RADIO MEDICAL ADVICE as soon as possible.
