Special considerations
In cases of suspected suicide attempt:
- take all possible measures to save the patient’s life;
- ensure the patient is never left unattended.
Preserve any evidence of the poison, including:
- containers such as bottles, cups, or packages;
- vomited material (store in a sealed container).
These may help identify the substance and guide further treatment after medical evaluation.
